With the signing of the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012, signed into law by President Obama this month, the federal research and development tax credit was again extended (through the end of 2013).
Arizona has again, allocated $5 million to companies engaged in qualified research that generate a research tax credit in excess of their state tax liability. With one of the most lucrative research tax credits in the country, Arizona leads the nation in their support of innovation.
Does your company develop or improve products, processes, software, techniques, formulas or inventions? If so, you may qualify for this lucrative tax incentive.
Qualifying for this credit is important as is developing the right documentation.
On Friday morning, February 1st, Randy Eickhoff, President of Acena Consulting, will be presenting at the Hyatt House in Old Scottsdale on this important tax incentive. The one hour presentation will cover:
- The research tax credit structure, value and how to maximize this incentive,
- How to qualify and apply for the Arizona Research Tax Credit (including receiving a refund for credits in excess of your tax liability), and
- Proper documentation processes in the event of an IRS or AZDOR audit.
Arizona businesses that qualify can receive a refund of the state research tax credits generated even if they are currently in a loss position.
