Gary D. Rhoades, Director of the Center for the Study of Higher Education at the University of Arizona, will moderate a roundtable discussion on practical contributions of entrepreneurship in our community. Roundtable participants will include:

NEW: Pitch Arizona Prizes Announced

Pitch Arizona will provide startups exceptional exposure and expert advice. In addition to pitching their ideas to venture capital and mezzanine lenders, angel investors, corporate VCs, investment firms and private equity representatives, the 40 entrepreneurs and teams making pitches have four ways to win.

  • Eller College of Management Award for Greatest Potential to Create Jobs – $2,500
  • IdeaFunding Award for Best Pitch – $2,500
  • Arizona Center for Innovation Award for Most Innovative – $2,500 and a three month service package
  • Grand Champion Award – a five-minute presentation to the Desert Angels at 6 p.m.

Join Matt Muehlebach for an interview with David Allen, Executive Director of Tech Launch Arizona

David N. Allen, Ph.D., joined the University of Arizona in September as the first Executive Director of Tech Launch Arizona (TLA), a technology commercialization center that aims to help move knowledge and inventions developed at the UA to the market. TLA’s goal is to ensure greater cohesion among University researchers, the business community and organizations supporting technology commercialization, and to consolidate and significantly enhance the University’s tech commercialization efforts.
